Scissor lift — straight up, big platform.
Best indoors and on flat, solid ground. You get a wide deck, room for two people and material, and a stable place to work for hours. Warehouse lights, sprinklers, ceiling grid, HVAC, painting, retail build-outs, sign install on a flat lot.
Boom lift — up and over.
Best when something is in the way. The arm reaches out over a roof edge, a fence, a hedge or a piece of equipment and puts you where a scissor lift physically cannot go. Tree limbs, gutters, high signage, steeples, building faces, power and light work.

Can I rent a scissor lift in Columbia, MS?

What's the difference between a boom lift and a scissor lift?
A scissor lift goes straight up on a big, stable platform — best for indoor and flat-ground work. A boom lift has an arm that reaches up and out over obstacles, so it can get you past a roof edge, a hedge or a fence.
How high do they go?
It varies by machine and what's on the yard. Tell us the working height you actually need and we'll match you to what we have.
Do I need training or a certification?
For work on your own property, no certification is required — but if you're using it on the job, OSHA requires operator training on aerial lifts. Either way we'll go over the machine, the controls and the harness point before you leave.
Can I use a scissor lift on grass or gravel?
Standard electric scissor lifts are built for flat, solid ground. Soft or uneven ground needs a rough-terrain machine — tell us the surface when you call so you get the right one.
How do I get it to the job?
Lifts are heavier than they look. Call and talk it through before you hook up to anything — we'll tell you what it takes to haul, or what your options are.
